How do you fix a Sub-Zero door gasket that will not seal?
On a Livermore built-in, fixing a Sub-Zero door gasket that will not seal starts with a dollar-bill drag test around the perimeter, then reseating or replacing the magnetic strip and squaring the door, in this order:
- Run the dollar-bill drag test at each edge; spots where the bill slides out freely mark the gap.
- Warm the magnetic gasket with a hair dryer on low and press it back into the channel to reseat the magnet.
- Check for hinge sag and confirm the door lands square against the cabinet face.
- Verify the panel-ready cabinet itself is square, since an out-of-square opening defeats any new gasket.
- If the strip is torn or compressed flat, replace it with the OEM gasket matched by model and serial.
- Recheck the seal and temperature pull-down before the visit closes.
See the repair versus replace guide if frost keeps returning, or schedule a Livermore visit on the contact and booking page.
